I was sick last week. Completely down and out. But, being bedridden did give me a chance to catch up on reading the scientific literature I’ve been stockpiling, so all was not lost!
Interestingly, I read a study published in September’s Science Daily that indicated Quercetin, a phytochemical found in fruits and vegetables including red onions, grapes, blueberries, apples and broccoli -- and also found in tea and red wine -- might have anti-viral properties that could protect us from the flu.
Granted, this particular study was conducted with mice, but a recent human study found that people who took quercetin suffered fewer illnesses than those who did not, suggesting that eating fruits and vegetables might be an effective, preventive strategy to offset the increase in susceptibility to infection.

Hello, Jen! I hope you're feeling better. Thanks for "linking me!" I'm flattered. : ) Feel better, and let's keep this chat going!

Thanks!

Quercetin is also very high in seabuckthorn juice powder, leaves and berry oil. Quercetin is a flavonoid. It also helps tremendously with allergies.
I'm so happy to have found your site off HARO!
